Bach
To The Future is an auditioned group of 17 professional and amatuer volunteer
singers, founded in 2001 to bring a variety of enjoyable quality
vocal chamber music to Eastern Shore
audiences. BTTF has performed programs ranging from Renaissance to contemporary choral music,
from a
cappella to full orchestral accompaniment. We want to give our
listeners a wide range of musical experiences
in the hopes they will enjoy themselves as much as we do.
Below are the people that make it happen!
Artistic Director, Kevin W. Thomas
Mr.Thomas began his
undergraduate studies in music education at West Chester University of
Pennsylvania and received his
Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal
Performance from the College of Charleston. Mr. Thomas also pursued
graduate studies in conducting at the University of South Carolina
and
studied at the Oberlin College and Conservatory’s Baroque
Performance Institute. Mr. Thomas has served as Music Director for
Grace Lutheran Church in Easton
and is currently Director of Music at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in
St. Michaels, MD. He is also the Artistic Director for
the Delaware Choral Society in Dover, DE.
Mr. Thomas has an
active studio of voice students in Easton, where he resides.
Lyn Banghart, Piano Accompanist
Lyn Banghart has a B.S. Degree in
Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in
flute and a minor in piano. While at Indiana,
she was principal flutist with the
Wind Ensemble and the Indiana Community Orchestra. She was also
appointed student piano accompanist and accompanied the College
Choir.
She went on to study with Murray
Panitz, principal flutist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and performed
for 10 years with the Tradewinds Flute Quartet in the Harrisburg, PA
area.
She taught private flute and piano,
was principal flutist for the Susquehanna Valley Symphony Orchestra and
performed with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. .
She presented numerous solo recitals
as a flutist and pianist, many with the Wednesday Club, an organization
of professional and amateur musicians.
She was also resident piano accompanist for the Wednesday Club.She has performed at the Aspen Wye Institute as accompanist for mezzo soprano Bonnie Cutsforth Huber
and also at the Chesapeake Performing Arts Center for soprano Geneva Stork. She is currently serving as piano accompanist for the Chesapeake Singers at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD,
the Delaware Choral Society in Dover, DE, the chorus at William Hill Manor in Easton, MD and Bach To The Future in which she also sings.
